Direct Access

In Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent we have a remote working solution called Direct Access (DA). This automatically connects your laptop to the CoIN network. Allowing access to your work drives and connection to the Spine, HSCN etc.

You have to attach your laptop to the internet and the rest happens automatically.

At peak times it may take longer to connect as the servers handle the connection requests from multiple devices.

COVID19 Crisis

This system has seen huge demand on the servers during this crisis period, connections were being made many times over the design capacity of this system. We ask that if there are things that can be done without being on the CoIN network then please disconnect from the network and allow clinical workers easier/more reliable access. Most non-clinical personnel (such as corporate staff) don’t need access to clinical systems and so can easily do their work without connection to DA. There is a guide on disconnecting DA Below.
